On 11-12 of January 2011 there was a vocation workshop for young men who search and consider to respond to God's call to the priesthood in Diocese of Umzimkulu. The workshop was facilitated by Fr. Protas Mkhize the Diocesan Vocations Promoter with the help of seminarians: Albony Zamisa, Siyabonga Magcaba and Mzikayise Xaba. We pray that God will inflame the desire  in the hearts of these young men to serve People of God in our Diocese as the diocese suffers shortage of priests. "The Pope Benedict XVI has approved for the beatification to take place on May 1 of this year. On the Sunday of Divine Mercy, an important date in his life and his encounter with the Lord.

The announcement comes after a miracle was unanimously approved by the Vatican's congregation for the Causes of Saints.
