St Theresa Relics visit Umzimkulu Diocese, South Africa PDF Print E-mail

The Relics of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux - of the Child Jesus
 
- came to South Africa, on 25th June and started to visit different communities till end of September 2010 - starting from Archdiocese of Johannesburg.

The Relics of the Saint will also visit our Umzimkulu Diocese
from 29th of July till 2nd of August 2010.
The first part of celebration will be at Christ the King Church in Port Shepstone on 29-31 July. Then from noon of 31 July till 2 August the Relics will be venerated at Our Lady of Sorows Church in Umzimkulu.  On 2nd of August the Relics will be transfered to Capuchin Convent at Melville. The Relics of the Saint Therese of Lesieux, virgin and doctor, will arrive at OR Tambo airport on 25th of June and will go directly to the Carmelite Convent in Benoni for unpacking from the fright box. The reliquary containing some of the mortal remains of the Saint is an ornate casket 1.5 m long, about as long as outstretched arms and about a meter square. It weighs 120kg. It will be covered with a domed see-through lid during the veneration.
